Greenwich Music School expands with a bespoke new teaching centre on Vanbrugh Hill. After 18 months of hard work and planning, we are delighted to have opened the redeveloped Vanbrugh Studio earlier this year.

Free music classes for babies, training for children’s centre staff and bespoke song-sheets, recordings and other resources help to improve access and increase music-making for young children in our Musical Beginnings project.

The course took place at Mycenae House and was fully booked, with over twenty children aged 5-11 joining us for a week of creative music-making led by Greenwich Music School Director and pianist Bethan Scolding, together with GMS teacher and flautist Fiona Long and guest teachers Angela, Júlia, Martha and Wilf.

We are delighted to announce that Greenwich Music School has been awarded a grant of £9,780 by the Reach Fund, a grant programme that helps charities and social enterprises raise investment.

Greenwich Music School (GMS) has been shortlisted in the new National Creative Learning Awards. Our partnership project Musical Beginnings has been shortlisted for the Early Years Achievement award.

We're very excited to launch our new video all about our classes for babies, toddlers and young children! Presented by Bethan Scolding, a GMS director and head of Greenwich Early Years Music, the video explores what happens in the classes, and how our approach engages with the very youngest children and helps them develop a love of music.
