Expert musical instrument or voice lessons.

One-to-one music lessons for children and adults, in bass guitar, cello, clarinet, composition, drum kit, flute, guitar, music theory, piano, recorder, saxophone, singing, trumpet, viola or violin.

Weekly lessons are available online or at our bespoke teaching venues in the borough of Greenwich, London. We welcome children and adults, beginners or experienced players, and those returning to an instrument.

We offer reduced pricing for off-peak lessons: weekdays before 3.30pm and after 8pm, and weekends after 5:30pm (Sat) or 5pm (Sun).

Through our Bursary Fund we're able to offer financial support towards lesson fees, for those most in need - bursaries are available primarily for children’s lessons. Find out more.

Make progress and enjoy music with Greenwich Music School!

Why Greenwich Music School?

  • Crafted individual curriculum for each student.
  • High-quality music lessons from expert tutors, who are at once professional musicians and dedicated teachers.
  • Tuition for all ages and all levels, from beginners to professional coaching.
  • Performance opportunities every term.
  • Additional support available, including aural skills support classes and accompanists for exams and performances.
  • Option to enter exams, festivals and competitions.
"The lessons feel very focussed on the individual. These are not cookie-cutter lesson plans. Leia’s lessons are completely tailored to her needs. She has gained a self confidence that allows her to express herself without feeling at all self-conscious or worrying that she might get it wrong and her creativity is flourishing."
- Debbie (Parent)

Teachers & staff team

The team of Greenwich Music School teachers are central to the work we do as a music education organisation. All are at once teachers and professional musicians, active in many different areas of music-making and the music industry.

All our teachers are DBS checked and follow the GMS safeguarding policy.

How does it work?

  • Send an enquiry and we'll arrange a trial lesson to suit you. If you'd like to continue, lessons are booked for a fixed day and time, each week or fortnight*, for the term in advance (11-13 weeks). See term dates.
  • This continues until you give us notice to stop or change lesson time/day. Notice is required at least one month before the end of term to stop at the end of the term or change time/day from the start of the next term.

Minority instrument scheme

Our 'minority instrument scheme' applies to children or adults trying any of the following instruments:

Clarinet, flute, saxophone

The scheme includes:

• £50 credit towards instrument rental (credited against lesson fees)
• 10% off lesson fees for the first term
• Plus, for those receiving support from our Bursary Fund: long-term discount on instrument rental and extra financial support towards lesson fees.

The scheme is open to both adults and children. Regular attendance is required, and care of the instrument is the responsibility of the parent or adult student. Limited places available.
