
Emily Sloan
Emily studied for her Masters at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance where she graduated with Distinction in Vocal Performance under the tuition of Mezzo - Soprano Sarah Pring. From 2021 - 2022 Emily was mentored by Anush Hovhannisyan on the Jette Parker Mentorship scheme and took part in the Berlin Dramatic Voices Training programme in the summer of 2022. From 2015 - 2019 Emily studied at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire where she gained her Bachelors under the tuition of Louise Crane.
Currently based in London, Emily is an enthusiastic teacher, teaching privately, as well as in a South East London School. Emily strives for the best for her pupils, tailoring lessons to an individual's needs, whether this is teaching an exam syllabus, preparing for performances or simply singing for fun. Emily's pupils vary in standard with numerous students gaining places at Junior conservatoires, and performing arts degree courses. As well as one-to-one teaching, Emily regularly leads workshops with a range of companies including Rogue Opera, Voices Across Time and All Aboard Opera! the latter of which she Co-Founded in 2021 holding the key pillars of Accessibility, Innovation and Adventure at its heart.
Recent operatic performances include Giorgetta - Il Tabarro, Mimi - La Boheme, Suor Angelica - Suor Angelica, Violetta (Cover) - La Traviata, Savitri - Savitri and Madame Silverpeal - The Impresario. Emily covered Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor for Instant opera in 2022 as well as singing extracts of the Marschallin for Uncovered Opera's Strauss performance in November 2022. Emily's other roles include Suor Genovieffa - Suor Angelica, Waltraute - Die Walkure, Donna Elvira - Don Giovanni, Erste Dame - Die Zauberflöte, Rosina - The Ghosts of Versailles, Rosalinda - Die Fledermaus, Aunt Norris - Mansfield Park, Mathilde - Guilliame Tell, Jenny Diver - The Beggar's Opera, Frasquita - Carmen. In the run up to Christmas 2022 and 2023 Emily took part in Rogue Opera’s Christmas show tour as a last minute jump in.
