Xavier Borja Bucar

Piano

Xavier Borja Bucar is a Spanish pianist based in London. He studied with Raimon Garriga at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu, Barcelona, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Piano and Music Education. At the same institution, he also studied lyric singing.

With a comprehensive understanding of music, he has participated in both classic and modern musical projects.

As a piano teacher, Xavier has accumulated extensive experience with students of all ages and very different backgrounds. His teaching approach is based on two main aspects: fostering a bond between the student and their instrument and with music, and adapting his teaching to the individual conditions of each student. All of this is aimed at providing a systematic approach and gradual progression to learning, without forgetting to encourage each student's creativity.

Beyond his musical training, Xavier also holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Barcelona. Convinced that knowledge is necessarily multilayered, he has been combining his two fields of expertise for years by writing classical music reviews and essays for the Spanish specialised press.
