Kickstart lifelong musical learning by joining our comprehensive programme!
Our young musicians programme offers everything you need for a successful and enjoyable start to learning an instrument: piano, violin, guitar, cello or flute.
Expert-led, small group lessons enable all the fun of learning with others, with the space and time for in-depth learning and meaningful progress.
We support all aspects of musical learning, and each term children from the course come together in bigger groups (online or in person!) to share their progress and enjoy making music together. Opportunities to and work towards qualifications help focus learning and give children opportunities to mark and celebrate their achievements.
- Weekly 40-minute instrument lessons in a small group of three students for the first year, extended for the second year
- Develop the technical skills to play an instrument, learn to read and write music, improvise and play music of your own
- Work towards qualifications from leading exam boards, ABRSM Music Medals and LCM pre-prep
- Termly large group sessions to enjoy making music with other children and develop performance, ensemble skills, musicianship and theory.
- Termly progress reports support progress and keep a record of achievements
- All sheet music, books and exam entry costs are included in the course cost, along with access to discounts on other GMS courses.
Your child will need an instrument for this course. Hire options are available.
This course is suitable for those who have recently started learning an instrument (for at least 3 months) - for example who have completed Discover Music or a Starters course at Greenwich Music School, or had one to two terms of instrument lessons elsewhere.
Junior Musicians Programme is a year-long subscription, with lessons taking place during term time. The first year fee is £585, split into 10 monthly payments of £58.50 (£52.65 for siblings). The second year fee is £690.
