This week saw Denise Ham's final session as Course Director of London Conducting Academy - working with this year's class of conductors on Dvorak's Cello Concerto, with a full orchestra and soloist Nicholas Holland.
Denise has made the personal decision to step back from direction of the course, and we’re very grateful for her leadership of this unique conducting course through the last nine years. Denise has made an immense impact through this course, as an inspirational model and as a passionate and effective advocate for the kind of communication with players that she values: that is, that puts the music first and aims for perfect clarity in communication of the music. We know that Denise will continue to inspire conductors and other musicians through her ongoing work and projects as a conductor and teacher.
We have made the difficult decision not to run London Conducting Academy in 2024/25, so that we can step back and review the next steps.
